Evidence / reason / conclusion

With this T4T tutorial, students determine the elements of an argument or justification used to persuade someone to adopt a position. They develop an understanding of the importance of distinguishing between evidence and conclusion; recognizing connections between evidence, reason, and conclusion; and looking at the quality of the evidence used to support conclusions. This tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing terms, identifying attributes of concepts, reinforcing concepts, applying concepts in everyday teaching, and assessing student understanding) and resources for students (introductory activities, data chart, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
