Creating effective inquiry questions

With this T4T tutorial, students learn a strategy to create effective inquiry questions to learn about people, events, and places in a community. Students begin by learning what effective inquiry questions are and how they can be used to learn more about local histories. Students use criteria to identify and create effective inquiry questions. Designed to support inquiry into local histories, this tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy to learn more about a local history, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (activity sheets, and self-assessment rubric).
