Vivid images

Students use precise, evocative, and descriptive words to enhance a written piece. They develop an understanding of the value of creating vivid images when writing and the importance of using strategies to describe objects, events, and experiences. This tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy to everyday teaching, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (introductory activities, data chart, samples, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
