Students use a series of graphics and words to represent the main events, steps, or phrases described in a text. They develop an understanding of the importance of identifying and representing graphically the main events or stages presented in a text, and the value of storyboards as a strategy to help make sense of, and to represent, text as a series of key events. It includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing storyboards, exploring the concept, and assessing student understanding) and resources for students (sample storyboards and texts, data charts, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
