The Snapshots in Time Significant Events in Canadian History series includes three sets of 50 cards focused on significant events in the history of what became known as Canada from pre-history to present day.
Snapshots in Time draws on research supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
This set of cards was partially funded by the University of Alberta’s Endowment Fund for the Future: Support for the Advancement of Scholarship program.
Snapshots in Time Snapshots in Time are sets of visual timeline cards focused on significant events, people and developments in history. These cards are suitable for a variety of audiences and age groups including grades 4-12 students and teachers, museum educators, post-secondary students and teachers, and members of the general public. Individuals or groups can use the cards as an entertaining board game, an effective learning tool, a powerful teaching resource or authentic assessment strategy.
There are three different Game Play options (complete instructions are included with the set):
Played with two or more people, the objective is to be the first person to place five cards in the correct place on the timeline.
Played with two or more people, the objective is to work with your teammates to organize selected cards into chronological order as accurately as possible.
Played individually, the objective is to organize cards into chronological order as accurately and quickly as possible.
