Reading traces when inquiring into local histories

Students learn how to use traces to discover more about local histories. Students understand what traces are and how they can be read to reveal more about local histories. Designed to support inquiry into local histories, this tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, applying the strategy to learn more about a local history, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (activity sheets, images, and self-assessment rubric).
