Students learn how to be skeptical when presented with information. They develop an understanding of the importance of being skeptical when presented with information; appreciating the difference between cynicism and raising doubts; and generating probing questions about the credibility and adequacy of textual and visual information. It includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing terms, exploring concepts, and assessing student understanding) and resources for students (introductory activities, data charts, student guide, samples and self-assessment rubric).
