Students review background information (accessed online) about the case of a man known as Jerome who was found without legs and speechless on a Nova Scotia beach in 1863. Students then examine primary and secondary source documents to find evidence to support or contradict the "Frozen Man" theory and use the evidence to determine if the theory offers a believable explanation of the man's identity.
