Active listening

Students learn to listen and respond to other people in ways that demonstrate they fully understand what was said. They develop an understanding of the importance of active listening and of the value in using certain techniques for active listening. This resource includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy to everyday teaching, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (introductory activities, data charts, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
