The TC² model provides a shared language, a coherent and sound approach, and comprehensive resources to sustain concerted efforts to promote critical, creative and collaborative thinking within every classroom.
The basic principle of the Consortium is that Partners join to form a network of educators committed to long-term, field-based support. Our approach to sustained and transformative professional learning is to work over time with educational leaders in planning and implementing programs that offer coherent, comprehensive and continuous support for teachers. We work collaboratively with our Partners to build sustainable capacity and create positive synergies.
Partner employees receive free access to TC² online resources containing exemplary teaching ideas.
Partner employees receive free access to professional learning resources and other materials not available to the general public.
- A discount on sessions and programs that provide comprehensive professional learning support
- A 20% discount on published teaching and professional resources that offer lesson and unit plans for embedding thinking into day-to-day teaching and that advance teacher understanding of key educational concepts and practices
TC²’s team of experienced and highly regarded facilitators have worked with over 175 000 educators across Canada and internationally to plan, offer and evaluate a wide range of ongoing professional learning opportunities. These include long-term programs, individual workshops, conference presentations, study sessions, curriculum development projects and teacher-directed initiatives to deepen and extend thinking in classrooms.
TC² has raised over $3 000 000 from external sources to support current and completed projects. Money from these sources has created opportunities and resources for Partner groups to support their teachers.
The Consortium’s mission is to promote thinking through four integrated functions of professional development, publications, community building and research.
Our guiding philosophy is to enhance education through coherent, comprehensive and continuous field-based professional learning supported by exemplary teaching and assessment resources.
Organizations who have been Partners for at least one year are encouraged to participate in the Consortium's governance and direction setting by agreeing to serve as a Voting member of the Consortium.
Partners agree to act in accordance with Consortium policies on reproducing and adapting TC² materials that encourage broad dissemination and ensure the integrity and copyright of our materials and services.
Annual partnership fees provide considerable benefits including ongoing consultation to develop programs, free access to our online resource collections and discounts for professional learning services and resources.
Partners are encouraged to make a minimum two-year commitment to partnership in the Consortium.
