Students write in the words and style of someone else. They develop an understanding of the value of writing from different voices depending on the circumstance; recognizing clues to suggest the style and manner used in pieces of speech and writing; and using style and words characteristic of an assigned perspective. This tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy to everyday teaching, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (introductory activities, data charts, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
