Implicit messages in images

With this T4T tutorial, students interpret the hidden or non-obvious messages that the artist may be trying to convey about the people, events, or objects in an image. They develop an understanding of the importance of recognizing the views, attitudes and implicit messages that artists may convey in an image. This tutorial includes instructional suggestions for teachers (introducing the strategy, practicing the strategy, reinforcing the strategy, applying the strategy in everyday teaching, and assessing use of the strategy) and resources for students (introductory activities, data charts, student guide and self-assessment rubric).
